About this cottage for up to 5 guests in Essex

This spacious, three bedroom and two bathroom barn conversion stands in a semi-rural location in the Colne Valley in northeast Essex. The spacious open-plan living area is sectioned into distinct sitting, dining and kitchen areas which are defined by wooden beams. Large windows on three sides of the room create a bright and airy light-filled living space.

The focus in this holiday property is on comfort and pleasure. Underfloor heating maintains a pleasant temperature. This is a lovely room to relax in after jaunts out in north Essex and Suffolk. The kitchen is especially well-equipped so that you can self-cater to your heart’s content if you wish. Here you will find all essential kitchen appliances and a few more besides. The oven and hob are electric, which is often the case in rural properties. A dishwasher makes easy work of clearing up after meals.

Take pleasure in this beautiful tranquil location, not far from Castle Hedingham and enjoy the gardens and greenery from the windows. This is an ideal spot for bird and wildlife watching. On sunny days, you could make use of the garden furniture and relax outdoors, reading, taking lunch or just relaxing with a glass of your favourite beverage in the evenings before bedtime.

There are three differently sized bedrooms to choose from, two of which are on the ground-floor.

The king-size master bedroom contains an impressive modern four poster bed. It also has a television on a chest of drawers should you like to wind down with a little television watching before sleep. This room has its own shower room with a cubicle.

The other ground-floor bedroom is a good-sized twin room with two single beds. This has a wet room attached with shower, wash basin and W.C.

The third bedroom is upstairs under the eave and contains a double bed, a chest of drawers and easy chair. It is in shades of pink and might suit a young romantic couple.

WiFi Broadband allows guests to use their mobile phones and tablets.

There is ample space for two cars outside. Guests are welcome to bring bicycles to ride in the country lanes around the property. These can be safely locked away in a shed for that purpose.

There are plenty of suggested places to visit in Essex for a good day out during your self-catering holiday. Close to your accommodation is the village of Castle Hedingham, a charming historic place that is brimming with history. Visit the castle, admire the period buildings, some half-timbered, many in pastel shades. Browse the shops in the village and you should be able to find delicious foods to enjoy at your holiday accommodation when you get back. Visitors love this part of northeast Essex and Suffolk border. Dine out at ancient inns and discover quaint shops and cafes. It is a luxury to have the time to saunter around a town and explore on holiday. Take a ride on the Colne Valley railway to take in the views with someone else in the driving seat.

Northeast Essex and south Suffolk is such an amazing part of southeast England for a self-catering break. Travel a little north east to find the remarkable medieval village of Lavenham where houses lean on each other like dominoes. Spend time in Long Melford at Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall to find out more about nobility in Essex in an amusing fashion. Return to your comfortable holiday barn to think about the interesting and beautiful things that you have seen. Sweet dreams will be yours.
