Self catering holidays in Peloponnese

We regret that there is a sad lack of availability in Peloponnese at present.

Please consider perusing alternative holiday cottages in Greece?

We suggest that you try our advanced Cottage Search facility to enter your self-catering requirements such as number of people in your party, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms and so on. This will produce a list of possible holiday lets. Next, reduce the list by adding any other criteria that might be of lesser importance such as near a pub or type of accommodation.

The Peloponnese is a region of Greece.  The Peloponnese is not known as a major tourist destination but visitors to this area will find many peaceful unspoilt areas of Greece here.  The Peloponnese is technically an island as there is a separation of water between the Peloponnese and mainland Greece.  To reach the Peloponnese it is necessary to cross the amazing Corinth canal.  The cross over point at the bridge crossing the Corinth canal is a good point to get out and enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes and take a look at this huge canal.
The lower section of the Greek mainland below the Corinthian Canal is the Peloponnese.  A rich agricultural area, the Peloponnese encompasses the wine growing regions of Nemea.  Olive groves are dotted throughout the area, citrus fruit, peppers, courgettes, tomatoes, and other vegetables and fruits associated with the Mediterranean are grown in this area. The cherries are superb at the end of May.

The terrain varies from mountainous where villages cling precariously to hillsides, down to valleys, plains, wonderful forests, and miles upon miles of coastline and sandy beaches.
The Peloponnese doesn’t attract tourists in their droves so if you have a sense of adventure and want to explore somewhere off the beaten track then the Peloponnese may well be a great part of Greece for your self catering holiday.  Reasonable numbers of people head for the sites of Olympia and Epidavros but outside these areas there is plenty opportunity to find secluded and remote self catering accommodation.

Popular places to visit include Olympia, Epidavros, Nafplio, Sparta, Corinth, medieval Mystra and Monemvasia. There is just so much to see and an incredible number of beautiful landscapes.  A tour of the Peloponnese is highly recommended - it's the sort of place that people develop a strong affection for and return to for self catering holidays year after year.   Whether you are seeking a villa or apartment to rent, we hope you have a great time in the Peloponnese.
