Escape to this family self-catering cottage near Rock.

Set next to beautiful countryside, this traditional 3 bedroom semi-detached stone cottage can be found near the centre of St Minver, an unassuming Cornish village a short drive from the county’s north coast. It’s well located for anyone looking to get the most out of Cornwall: while staying here you get to appreciate the lovely, unspoiled countryside scenery, and the great thing is you’re not too far from several other settlements and the north Cornish coast.

The property has three bedrooms: a single, a twin and a bedroom with a super-king size bed (can be converted to two twin beds). The single is a few steps up from the ground floor, while the twin and double, along with the bathroom, are both found on the first floor. The kitchen is well fitted and the living room comes with a log burner to make use of on cold evenings. Outside there’s a lovely private, enclosed garden with outdoor furniture provided. A total of five people can be accommodated here, though note that pets aren’t allowed. There’s room to park two medium-sized cars or one large car.

On days out, visit the nearby town of Rock, which is a thriving seaside resort where the likes of windsurfing, dinghy racing and waterskiing are popular. From here you can hop on the Black Tor Ferry for a short ride across the River Camel to Padstow. It’s a bustling fishing village known for its many fine restaurants serving a variety of delectable dishes, not to mention its fine nearby beaches. Water-based activities such as sailing and speedboating are quite popular here as many enjoy exploring the stunning north Cornish coast. Those who want to explore it on land can choose from several walking trails that take in beautiful views of both the sea and the hinterlands.
