Positioned not far from Dartmouth and in a lovely location beside the River Dart about 3 miles from its estuary, Dittisham is a fantastic location for a tranquil and relaxing Devonshire cottage holiday. Dittisham is a real treat. Home to the rich and famous (and infamous) as well as a core of switched on villagers who produce wonderful music and plays, usually performed at the Flavel Centre in Dartmouth. The pub is a one-stop shopping experience, including the post office! Park the car in the car park and wander through the meandering track to the ferry that takes you to Agatha Christie's Greenways - just ring the bell and wait for the ferryman to collect you! But before you get on the ferry why not sample the platter of seafood at the Anchorstone Cafe and soak up the view? This is a lovely way to get to Greenways. Protected by the National Trust, Greenways House and Garden are well worth a visit and will talk you on a walk through the life of the prolific writer, Agatha Christie. There are wonderful well marked walks along the banks of the Dart here to be enjoyed.
