The most popular being the annual Hurling the Silver Ball competition which occurs every Shrove Tuesday. A competitive game that has lasted in Cornwall since medieval times, what starts with a scrum between the countrymen and the townsmen ends with a battle to pass a silver ball between two sets of goals that are two miles apart.
