cottages north cornish coastThe north Cornish coast is many peoples' favourite holiday destination. Lawrence Lleweyln-Bowen who is currently presenting the BBC's holiday programme owns and enjoys his own holiday cottage here. It's a gorgeous stretch of coastline, somewhat buffeted by the Atlantic; the resulting big waves are a magnet for surfers.

You may have enjoyed the TV programme 'Doc Martin' set in the fishing village of Port Isaac, or may have heard of 'Obby 'Oss day celebrated on May Day in Padstow where Rick Stein owns and runs restaurants. There are numerous other wonderful towns and villages to explore along the coast, each with its own character and seaside charm such as Boscastle, Crantock, Morwenstow, bustling Newquay, Perranporth with its long sandy beach, surfers paradise at Polzeath, Porth with another safe sandy beach, Rock and St Merryn with their Michelin starred restaurants, Wadebridge and the Camel Trail - a 17 mile safe path for cycling and walking.

Take a self-catering cottage holiday on the north Cornish coast for an interesting holiday to remember.
