The county town of Bradford is situated in the middle of the city of Bradford in the Metropolitan Borough of West Yorkshire in Northern England. It lies on the foothills of Pennines at 8.6 miles west of Leeds and 16 miles northwest of Wakefield. It became a municipal borough in 1847 and got its status as a metropolitan borough in the year 1974. The large population of the town also confirms it as the 14th most populous county in UK and as the 3rd largest one in the West Yorkshire’s urban area.

Bradford was historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. It grew in the 19th century as an international centre for textile manufacturing of wool, due to which, it also came to be known as ‘the wool capital of the world. It was also the boomtown of the Industrial Revolution, and one of the earliest industrial settlements.

There are also numerous tourist attractions offered by the town of Bradford like the Shipley Glen Tramway, Ogden Country Water Park, Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, Eureka Museum for Children, Manor Heath Park and Jungle Experience, BLS Ingrow Loco Museum and Workshop, Ponderosa Rural Therapeutic Centre, Bronte Parsonage Museum, and many others. Self catering accommodation in the town like holiday chalets, self catering villas, and log cabins provide plenty of time to the tourists to explore these destinations to the fullest.
