One of the larger towns in England, Dudley is situated in the West Midlands. With a population of more than 194,000, Dudley is 26th largest settlement in England. The city is part of the West Midlands conurbation, and is located south of Wolverhampton. It is the largest town in the Black Country.

Dudley is one of the more popular tourist destinations in England. The place has various tourist attractions that are visited by thousands every year. One of them is Dudley Museum and Art Gallery, which was established way back in 1893. The museum has geology exhibits that are drawn from a collection of approximately 15,000 fossils from the local area including nearby Wren's Nest hill and Wren's Nest. Fossils formed by the eruption of the volcano around 315 million years ago are also on display.

Dudley is also home to Dudley Zoological Gardens, a 40-acre zoo located within the grounds of Dudley Castle. The zoo has over 1,000 animals from over 200 species; most of these are endangered and are the product of captive breeding programmes.

Apart from these, Dudley also boasts of various other wonderful tourist attractions. Tourists can easily find economical accommodations in the form of cottages or self-catering villas.
