The Manor on the Monnow has recently been converted to provide the space, location and facilities which will ensure you have a genuinely memorable holiday in the Wye Valley. Located in 2 acres of grounds at the end of a private lane on the east bank of the River Monnow, but just a 10 minute walk into the heart of the beautiful border town of Monmouth, The Manor provides the very best in combined town and country living, perfect for large groups of holidaymakers.
Indoors there's more than enough space to sleep 24 in 11 bedrooms, 6 of which have their own en suite, with 4 bedrooms sharing 2 family bathrooms plus one shower room. A couple of cots can be provided for the under 3's. If any guests in your party find stairs a struggle, two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor. One is easy to access and makes use of a shower room/WC located through the kitchen, whilst the second is accessed via 4 wide steps with a handrail, and has its own en suite.
You're not short on communal space too. The kitchen and breakfast room make catering for your party a breeze, whilst the large, light and airy dining room can seat all of you around the table for memorable meals. The Great Hall with underfloor heating, a wood burner, satellite TV, DVD player and music system is the perfect place to come together at the end of a long day. Adjoining the Hall is a large games room equipped with table tennis, pool, table football and more.
On site, there's plenty to keep everybody amused: a games room with table tennis, pool, table football and more; a hot tub to unwind after a day's walking, canoeing or cycling; and a barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating where you can relax and listen to the River Monnow slowly wind its way downstream to join the River Wye. You can even fish the River Monnow from the garden, and go wild swimming 100 yards upriver of the house.
Monmouth is in the heart of the Wye Valley, and, as a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is surrounded by magnificent countryside. As a border town, this is where Wales really begins. The town has a unique charm with a plethora of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants - according the the Sunday Times it's the third best place to live in Britain, and we certainly agree. There is so much to see and do in this area, particularly for those who love to explore the great outdoors. A 15 minute drive will take you into the heart of the Forest of Dean with its staggering array of activities and attractions for people of every age and interest. You're also only a short drive from Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, and Abergavenny.
If the Welsh Borders, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is your holiday location of choice, look no further, The Manor on the Monnow has everything you need and we look forward to welcoming you.
Bookings from family groups, groups of friends looking to celebrate special occasions like reunions, birthdays or anniversaries and well behaved hen parties all welcome.
