 Chale is a village situated on the south of the Isle of Wight in an area called 'the back of the wight' . The village lies at the bottom of St. Catherines down, it is also nearby to Blackgang and the popular Blackgang Chine. Chale is also home to two of the oldest buildings on the Isle of Wight, Chale Abbey Farm which has a window that dates back to the 14th century and also Walpen Manor.
