Two bedroom log cabin sited in woodland in Roughburn, just under twelve miles from Spean Bridge in the Highlands. A forest log cabin getaway has a certain romantic appeal, although it would also attract keen mountain bikers who would adore to spend days rough riding through the woods. This is where you might stumble across grazing deer and certainly spot a few red squirrels.

Fersit Log Cabin stands on its own slightly elevated hill and is surrounded by a decked and enclosed area at one side where you could sit and watch wildlife.

Inside, the log cabin is a delight. A woodburner stands in the sitting area of a large open-plan living room. French doors look out onto the decking and woodland beyond. Snuggle up on the comfy sofas and enjoy a quiet evening reading a book or watching television. There is WiFi so that streaming your favourite films is an option. The room opens out at one side into the nicely proportioned dining area and kitchen.

A wooden table that seats four stands on the tiled floors. The white fitted kitchen with granite worktops is fitted with a dishwasher. Cooking can be conducted on an electric ceramic hob and oven. A separate microwave oven can be useful when defrosting food from the freezer or heating up meals. All the usual small appliances are present including a four-slice toaster, kettle, plus there are chopping boards, knives and essentials needed to produce meals on holiday.

One most attractive bathroom serves the two bedrooms. The bath is of a Jacuzzi type which may result in rather lengthy bath times. It might be much appreciated after forest walks or long bicycle trips. Warm towels straight off of the heated towel rail will be another pleasure.

The first of the two bedrooms is a king-size room and the second a twin. Both bedrooms are carpeted and have hotel quality bedlinen.

The log cabin offers comfortable good quality accommodation in a beautiful setting, between Fort William and the Cairngorm National Park. The Roy Bridge Reservoir is nearby and walks along the banks of the River Spean. Visit the water to observe waders and wildlife. The Glen Roy Nature Reserve is a recommended visit for stunning views and to see water lines in the mountains and the effects of the Ice Age.

Guests are welcome to bring two dogs with them to walk the forests and glens.

A 16 minute drive takes you to Spean Bridge, shops, eateries and other facilities. This log cabin is an excellent choice for a remote holiday this year.
