Gardenstown in the North East of Scotland has to be one of the prettiest coastal villages in Aberdeenshire.  Gardenstown is traditionally a fishing village and this tradition lives on as can be seen by the many colourful fishing boats in the harbour.  Gardenstown is at the base of a hill and some of the properties are located around the harbour and seafront whereas others are on the various levels of the hill.  Gardenstown is a charming place for a self catering holiday.

One of the main attractions of this village is the church St John the Evangelist, which was built in the year of 1513 and is now in its ruin. The village also has a permanent meteorological station. Though the place is small, it has most of the facilities you could wish for such as a pub, bakery and cafes.   If you are looking to get away from it all then Gardenstown could be right choice for you.  Apart from the sea gulls, the village is peaceful with a small stretch of beach that you can enjoy walking along.  There is a pretty harbour area with a cafe nearby.  One of the best walks is a walk along to Crovie where you can enjoy walking past these traditional fishermen’s cottages, some of which still have fishing nets and other fishing equipment outside them.

Being such a scenic spot, there are a number of self catering cottages in Gardenstown.  The self catering accommodation ranges from self catering houses, apartments to large coastal cottages.  Whether you are travelling as a couple and looking for a romantic retreat or a large group looking for a large cottage, we hope you find the right cottage in or near Gardenstown and have a fantastic self catering holiday in this part of Aberdeenshire.
