This former forge, now a very smart looking terrace cottage is based in historic Rye, Sussex close to sites connected with the Battle of Hastings. The cottage has 3 serene bedrooms (one super king-sized and two doubles) and a lovely stylish open plan living space with seating, kitchen and dining area. There is also a family bathroom. Enjoy peace, tranquillity and beautiful views of Rye on a walk through the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve: by the harbour, the beach and an area around the ruins of Camber Castle. While in 1066 country, seize the chance to visit the site of the Battle where King Harold II was killed by an arrow shot by a member of William the Conqueror's army, and wander Battle Abbey, founded later by William the Conqueror. Nine miles away is the lovely 14th century National Trust run, Bodian Castle complete with moat, surrounded by an artificial lake. In nearby Kent, take a walk along the splendid White Cliffs of Dover for stunning views of the English Channel and France's Coast. This is a lovely base for a relaxing coastal holiday or for exploring Sussex and Kent.
