Villa and Apartment Holidays in Lanzarote

We regret that there is a sad lack of availability in Lanzarote at present.

May we suggest taking a look at alternative holiday rentals in Canary Islands?

We suggest that you try our advanced Cottage Search facility to enter your basic essentials such as number of people in your party, tourist board grading, number of bathrooms and so on. This will produce a list of possible holiday lettings. Secondly, refine the list by adding any other features that might be of lesser importance such as setting or central heating.

Lanzarote sceneryLanzarote’s all year round appealing warm climate, along with the island’s many beaches, make this one of the top spots for holidays in the Canary Islands.

Whether you’re planning a self-catering holiday by the seaside or want to stay inland there are plenty of options when it comes to villa or apartment rental holidays in Lanzarote.

Holiday Inspiration and Ideas for Self-Catering Holidays in Lanzarote

•    If you love to be by the seaside, you may want to stay in or visit one of Lanzarote’s picturesque fishing villages such as Orzola or La Caleta de Famara or one of Lanzarote’s best known seaside resorts such as Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca or Puerto del Carmen.

For those who love the seaside, Lanzarote offers more than just beaches and cooling waters.  You can book activities like dolphin watching, big game fishing, jet-ski rides or catamaran trips.

•    There’s more to Lanzarote though than sun and sea.  For those interested in delving a little deeper, there is much to discover in the Canary Island of Lanzarote.

•    Dotted around the island inland are many pretty historical villages, with lovely white washed houses such as Haria and Teguise.

•    Family-friendly attractions on the island, bound to appeal to the kids include the AqualLava Waterpark at Playa Blanca with a range of attractions including a slow river, water slides and a wave pool, Lanzarote Aquarium at Costa Teguise where visitors can see hundreds of fish and Guinate Tropical Park (a zoo-type attraction) where visitors can see parrot shows and a variety of animals.

•    Also on Lanzarote, are numerous historical sites to visit related to the famous Lanzarote artist Cesar Manrique.  Cesar has a big influence on architecture in Lanzarote and can be credited with helping the island to retain much of its charm.  One of Cesar’s most interesting creations includes Jameos del Agua, which with its underground lake, restaurant, chill-out music and picturesque swimming pool, has a James Bondesque quality to it.

Lanzarote's volcanic lunar landscape•    Take a trip to the interior of the island and discover an otherworldly lunar landscape with craters and miles and miles of solidified lava.  The landscape here really doesn’t resemble one that you would expect to see on this earth with its varying colours of black, red, pink and purple and varying textural surfaces from craters to high mountain-like peaks and fractured lava fields.  You can take camel rides to explore this spectacular landscape or head to one of the Visitors Centres where you can see steaming geysers along with fascinating demonstrations.

•    For those who enjoy drinking or tasting wine there are a number of Bodegas to visit in Lanzarote, although Bodega El Grifo is said to be one of the best.

Whether you’re thinking of renting a holiday apartment or even a villa with a private swimming pool, we hope you find your ideal place to stay for your Lanzarote holiday on Countrycottagesonline.net.
