Presteigne is a small border town half in mid-Wales and half in England, divided by the River Lugg; you can stand on the bridge, with a foot in both Wales and England. It's a pleasant small town with an interesting selection of shops and black and white houses.
Presteigne also offers the tourist attraction 'The Judge's Lodging', a restored Georgian Court House where visitors can inspect cells, courtroom and living quarters from a bygone age.
There are plenty of places to eat ranging from fish and chips, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants to a Michelin starred restaurant 5 miles out of Presteigne.
