Rent a self catering apartment near Mellieha Bay, north east Malta for a beach holiday. Mellieha Bay is one of Malta's nicest sandy beaches and the largest with a gently shelving beach and shallow sea for a long way out. Sun beds and umbrellas can be hired. There are cafes and restaurants on the beach for snacks and drinks.

Although the Maltese islands offer kilometres of coastline, much of it consists of slabs of limestone rocks (good for sunbathing) and rocky coves but not that many sandy beaches. Mellieha Bay is one of the best, other beaches on the main island are at Golden Bay, Paradise Bay, Genjna Bay, Armier Bay - close to Mellieha, St George’s Bay and Pretty Bay in Birzebbugia in the south of the island, St George's Bay in St Julian's. There are more sandy beaches such as Ramla Bay on Gozo and Santa Maria Bay and St Nicholas' Bay on Comino.
