There is something special about a holiday in a pine lodge. A log cabin or lodge feels just that bit homelier than a traditional cottage or apartment. They are usually furnished in a similar way to any other holiday accommodation and will have comfortable sofas, a kitchen and a proper bathroom.
Find lodges dotted about the Norfolk countryside, mostly in small groups of lodges of varying sizes. There may be a one-bedroom lodge that is perfect for a couple, two bedroom or three. It is rare to find a large lodge that can sleep more then 6-8 people.
The accommodation will be equipped in much the same fashion as any self-catering cottage; there will be a widescreen television, some sort of music system, central heating and perhaps a log burner.
Certain lodges will be classified as luxury and one could expect a higher specification of fittings, furnishings and appliances as well as bathrobes, spa slippers and toiletries.
Quite often, pine lodges have those desirable extra amenities that add up to a pleasant holiday; a barbecue in the garden, a hot tub, sun loungers to catch a few rays, possibly a sauna or swimming pool.
Holidaymakers like Norfolk because it is pleasingly rural and green, fairly quiet and unspoilt. It is the place to visit to enjoy peaceful cycling, country walks, a spot of fishing or boating.
Read about our various lodges, some are set around a fishing lake, others simply offer a tranquil holiday with a touch of pampering.
Any lodges near the coast, especially up towards the Norfolk Broads offer a holiday that includes days on a beach, boat trips and fishing along the River Yare and its tributaries. Even if your stay remains purely on dry land, it is very nice to walk near the waterways, to birdwatch, to see the colourful boats, the reed beds that produce thatch for Norfolk cottages and farmhouses.
Almost every holiday lodge offers free WiFi. They may be rural but very much connected to the modern world and holidaymaker needs.
