It is essential for your dog to be used to driving long distances and not suffer from travel sickness. The nearest European destinations from Britain are Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Your dogs needs to a very good traveller to cope with longer drives, but we have known of people to drive to Poland with their dogs, which is over a 14 hour drive from a ferry port on the south coast of England.
