Whitstable on the north Kent coast is a fabulous town for a seaside holiday at any time of year. Made famous by its oyster catch, people still come in their thousands to eat oysters and enjoy being by the sea.
The former fishing sheds along the seafront are now born-again holiday cottages - each with a sea view. Whitstable is a medium sized town so that there are plenty of holiday homes to rent, both in the town and surroundings. It is an easy place for an accommodation only or self-catering holiday because of the large variety of eateries, also a good high street with plenty of shops.
People have taken holidays in Whitstable for generations. There are caravan parks on the outskirts and that vibrant touristy atmosphere that holidaymakers bring.
