Find a country cottage to rent for a holiday on the northwest Nofolk coast

If you are planning on going on a self-catering holiday, then the next step you might want to think about is what kind of accommodation you wish to rent. Depending on your group size, you might opt for a charming cottage in the heart of a friendly village, or a sprawling villa overlooking the sea. Perhaps you’d enjoy the use of a private garden or even a swimming pool if travelling with the kids, or maybe you are after a bit of luxury and would like to rent accommodation with a hot tub. If you are still unsure, then you should focus on the location instead, and the lovely little village of South Creake in North Norfolk is perfect should you wish to have a quiet country break with loved ones, that is just a short distance from the sea by car.

Find the right Norfolk holiday home

We all want a good standard of accommodation when we go on holiday and you will certainly find that near the northwest Norfolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Although the landscapes are flat and views extend for miles, the country lanes edged by hedgerows make this part of East Anglia easy on the eye. There are country cottages and farmhouses dotted about, along quiet anes and secluded backwaters. If you like to stay in a village with a little more life around you, then South Creak and neighbouring North Creak are a good choice.

Home to only around 500 people, South Creake is perfect for if you are after a quiet holiday where you can unwind and go on country walks every day, enjoying picnics outside underneath the trees during the summer months. The village is home to some amenities and features one pub, plus an array of wayside stalls that sell produce such as fruit and vegetables, cakes and eggs. Also found in the village is a children’s play area, tennis courts and a bowling green. The village is perfect to use as a base to discover the stunning coastline and rolling acres of farmland.

Both of these can be visited quite easily from South Creake. History lovers might also wish to visit the impressive Holkham Hall with its museum, ornate interior and walled garden, which is only about fifteen minutes by car from South Creake, and the royal residence of Sandringham isn’t too far either and is certainly worth the visit if in the area.
