Plan ahead and book a few days stay in a holiday rental near Leysdown-on-Sea, on the north Kent coast in the Isle of Sheppey. Although not strictly an island in that there is a bridge from the mainland, the Isle of Sheppey is a quiet place to stay, really good for a few days away walking the dogs and enjoying sea air. Book dogs-welcome holiday accommodation and you can look forward to a peaceful and relaxing Kent break.
The shingle beach is backed by an esplanade. There are cafes and amusements in this small coastal town. A couple of caravan parks bring lots of tourists in whenever the weather is good, generally from Easter until the end of October. Eastwards from Leysdown-on-Sea is the coastal park - a good place to walk for miles in the fresh air.
Cottages are better to stay in than caravans because they are far more spacious and warmer. Your cottage may have a garden where you could sit and relax outdoors in the sunshine. There are some holiday homes that offer a sea view, others that may have a barbeque, a hot tub or a luxurious bathroom. It all depends on what is available. Most Kent properties have WiFi.
