The large village of Marden lies south of Maidstone in Kent, in between the two green spaces of the Kent Downs and the High Weald. It would be a good place to stay for a holiday or a short break.
Some of the oldest houses are in Marden High Street and include half-timbered and white weather-boarded homes. Much of the town consists or residential estates in a typically English style of a front garden with a lawn and a path leading up to the house itself. These properties also have a recreational back garden that people have furnished with garden tables and chairs and perhaps a barbecue.
Beautiful old red brick farmhouses can be found on the roads leading out of Marden. These stand a distance from each other and offer seclusion and privacy as well as spacious farmhouse accommodation. Many will be decorated in a country-style and feature rustic beams and woodburners in the sitting room.
