The pretty village of Hartington has roads that radiate out in all directions from the centre where the duck pond and Devonshire Arms pub are found. Most of the properties are built of stone, including the holiday cottages. This village is a fabulous place to stay for a holiday or short break because it has a couple of pubs for food, a very good café and post office combined and the village stores. It may be a tranquil place but any self-caterers will find their needs very well met.
Hartington is dog friendly, the pub has a welcome drink of water for pets and lots are seen being walked around the village. A good number of the holiday cottages accept guests accompanied by their dogs and it wouldn’t take long to get to know this small village and make new friends.
A number of holiday homes in Hartington could be described as luxurious with high specifications and comfort. There is also a YHA in the village.
Numerous walks lead into the countryside and the gentle hills of the southern Peak District National Park.
