Make things easy on yourself when you stay in a holiday home in Ireland. Every holiday cottage has a refrigerator, but only a percentage will have a freezer. They can take up a fair bit of space so it’s more likely that you will find them in larger cottages or those with a utility room. It is virtually essential to book a holiday home that has a freezer if it is in a remote area, a long way away from the nearest supermarket.  The duration of your stay also matters. A fridge suffices for short breaks but not for a week or two. Plan ahead for meals that you will cook for your family and stock up the freezer on arrival. It is even possible to freeze milk.

Take a look through the following Irish accommodation with a freezer and see if they would make for a good base for your self-catering holiday in Ireland.
