Find a holiday home in or close to South Stoke for your Oxfordshire holiday. South Stoke is a quintessentially English village on the River Thames, about 1.5 miles north of Goring-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire and is surrounded by truly wonderful rural countryside. The village itself has the church of St Andrew built in the 13th century and a 17th century pub called ‘The Perch & Pike’ offering excellent wholesome food. There are many varied walks in the surrounding areas and ‘The Ridgeway Trail’ passes through the village. A five minute walk down the bridleway towards Goring on Thames and you will reach Witneymead Nature Reserve, a haven for all local wildlife and fauna. The River Thames is only 2 minutes away for those looking for waterside pursuits and there is much to see in the market town of Wallingford, home of Agatha Christie. There is also a local museum in Wallingford and it is possible to walk around the Castle grounds, former site of one of England’s most impressive citadels.
