Barnham is a large village about five miles north of Bognor Regis on the South coast of Sussex. It has an interesting history, being mentioned in the Doomsday book and the cattle market (founded in 1890 but now long gone) was, in its heyday, considered to be one of the most important in Sussex for both cattle and cereals. The area is still important for food production today with many industrial-sized greenhouses in the area, although very few actually within the parish boundary. Barnham is the ideal location for a country cottage holiday exploring the local area and is convenient for the coast, the Downs, and places like Chichester and Arundel.
