Castle Douglas is a small market town in Dumfries and Galloway in the south west of Scotland. It's situated in farming country and historically exported cattle to England. Later, milk and cheese were produced until the mid seventies. More recently, the town is earning a reputation as a food town and the tradition of producing award winning local cheese has now been revived. Blessed with fresh produce from the countryside and seas, restaurateurs in Castle Douglas offer fine meals with a local flavour.
