Billy's Bothy is a beautiful 5 star silver and gold award winning, luxury country cottage providing visitors with a quality self catering cottage in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales and close to the magnificent Peak District. Located in a quiet and peaceful rural setting within 10 acres of landscaped gardens and pastureland in the grounds of our grade II listed farmhouse, just 2 miles from the pretty historic market town of Ashbourne. This fabulous area has so many exciting, interesting and beautiful things to see and do for all ages.

This lovely cottage is built of old handmade red bricks with an abundance of pine beams and revealed brick walls throughout. The ground floor windows are a pretty feature with elegantly curved arches over old sty openings.

The Bothy has 4 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom all en-suite. There is an option of a 6th twin, annex bedroom, also en-suite. The floors of the shower rooms have underfloor heating and heated towel rails keeping them snug all year around.

The possible sleeping capacity is for 10 to 16 by arrangement. There are 2 travel cots provided.

The main entrance is on the ground floor in the centre of the house with oak stairs leading up to a magnificent galleried kitchen. The oak staircase and oak front door and surround make a wonderful feature to the cottage entrance and can be viewed from almost all rooms within the cottage. The farmhouse style kitchen furnished with hand made pine units with granite worktops is extremely well equipped and a pleasure to use, a large wine cooler is now provided.

The spacious lounge with a cosy log stove is on the 1st floor and opens out through a magnificent oak framed entrance onto a patio with flower borders and a well stocked orchard which follows around to further beautiful gardens and pastureland to enjoy. From here you can view the Henmoor valley across our small nature lake, and say hello to our chickens and donkeys .

Beautiful cast patio furniture gives seating for 16 and a solid fuel BBQ and fire pit are provided for your relaxation and entertainment. There is a hot tub off the patio which may be used by arrangement.

The lounge has 4 comfortable quality settees plus 2 bucket chairs and bench seat giving ample seating for all guests. The lounge has a large Smart TV with freeview , you can download Netflix, Amazon prime etc. from your own accounts. for your enjoyment with DVD, and CD player with radio also provided . The dining room is a delight for those intimate meals with friends and family, our large dining table will comfortably seat all guests. The furniture is all hand made in old pine to compliment our period cottage.

Two high chairs are provided. For those of you wanting a little pampering, meals can be arranged on request.

We have a sauna and hot tub on site which may be hired at a small charge per person. ( Terms of use apply)

Catering can be arranged for a special night in and there are many good restaurants and takeaways close by. Pampering and activities can also be arranged at the cottage.
