    Sussex in England is made up of 2 counties, East Sussex and West Sussex and includes coast and country.  There are plenty of good walks in Sussex so you may want to consider this county for a self catering walking holiday.  If you enjoy walking by the seaside you may want to plan some waterside or seaside walking along the Sussex coast whereas if you like immerse yourself in a green leafy environment then you may want to head to the South Downs National Park.  The South Downs covers more than 1,600 square kilometres of the Sussex landscape.  Walks in the South Downs criss cross forests, valleys and countryside.  The main walking route is the South Downs National Trail which covers some 160 kilometres.  If you plan to do some serious walking in the national park you may want to find a base to stay nearby.
